Hello, I'm Ruth
I'm that crazy horse girl that never grew up. I was the barn rat that would get on any horse no matter how crazy and soaked up knowledge like a sponge. As a fully sane adult horse woman, I offer several services to the Sandhill area including lessons, training, clipping, and massage therapy.
My Story
Although she has loved horses since she could talk, Ruth began riding when she was seven years old. What started as once-a-week riding lessons, transformed into a lifelong passion. Ruth was an active 4-H member from ages 9-18. She competed to the state level in Hunters, to the regional level in Dressage and Horse Judging, and to the national level in Horsebowl and Hippology.
At 16 years old, Ruth began working with Gunnar, a 10 year old Lusitano/Mustang, who needed some extra love and attention. After working through many chiropractic and dental issues, Gunnar transformed from a bucking horse into show horse. Together Ruth and Gunnar worked their way to third level dressage and training level eventing. Gunnar now lives a happy semi-retired lifestyle.
Ruth began teaching while she was in college in 2018. After graduating with a B.S. in Animal Science in 2022, she transitioned into teaching and training full time. Over the years, Ruth has worked with riders from 4-70 years old and loves to build their confidence and develop their love for the horse. She has worked with horses from all walks of life and with a variety of issues.
In 2023, Ruth completed the Equine Equissage program and became certified in equine sports massage therapy. In the same year, she launched Top Gun Equine Services LLC.
